In this episode, we talk about the ideal features we'd like to have on a rifle used in the General Purpose division of Quantified Performance precision gas gun matches.
The General Purpose division favors small frame guns due to restrictions on optics and barrel length. Cartridges like 5.56, 6ARC, and .224 Valkyrie are the most common chamberings for this division, although we do see some .308s occasionally.
The key take-aways for building a GP gun are:
- Maximize the gun's features to extent of the rules
- Minimize the cost to entry (rifle, optics, ammunition)
